Osorno - Getting ready for 800 miles of off road and snow

This little house is on a lovely farm near Osorno. It is frming s done 250 years ago in the USA. Teams of oxen, yoked together do the plowing.
Mac and I took a dirt road outside Osorno and found the farmland above
Salto De Lejas to Osorno - 270 miles

We've come to this town, 80 miles from Argentina, so we could all have new tires put on our freshly serviced 'motos'. We now have knobby tires front and rear so we can tackle the roads of Patagonia. We leave tomorrow for the high Andes border crossing from Chile to Argentina. We've spoken with some people who've just come over in a Hummer. It is snowing up in the pass. That should make the morning crossing even more interesting. We're taking the 'Seven Lakes' route once we reach Argentina. It is said to be a spectacular introduction to Patagonia.
