Vamos a Mexico manana

We're all getting stir crazy in this hot hell hole they call Tucson. It is 114 degrees today. We leave for the Mexican border at 6 AM tomorrow. I can't wait. We'll try to avoid the drug wars near the border, and escape the kidnappers and pickpockets as we ride the moutain ridge down the central spine of he country. Our route avoids most tourist locations. We should find out a great deal about the various cultures that exist in those mountains. Hasta la proxima vez.

This motoquest blog is intended to chronicle the ramblings of my 5 month, 22,000 mile motorcycle journey from Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina. That's as far as the road goes in North America to the tip of South America.

In order to minimize the frivolousness of this endeavor the trip will be used to fund research for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). MS researchers are on the verge of finding a cure. With your help this chronic and debilitating disease could be conquered in the next decade. For those interested in making a donation based on the number of miles completed here is what to do.
If I complete the entire 22,000 miles and you have pledged:
$0.001/mile your donation would be $22.00
$0.002/mile your donation would be $44.00, and so on.
Pledge an amount you are comfortable with, make a $10.00 initial donation, and then sometime in mid-December I’ll report how much of the trip was completed. You can then go back to the link above and donate any balance due based on your pledged amount per mile.
