Another poison tree frog. I'm surrounded!
Our lunch waitress wanted to become the newest Suzuki babe. Her daughter is the youngest SB yetFortuna to La Virgen - 130 miles
Of course Mac and I left early, before the group. We were supposed to go to a volcano and a high waterfall. That route added 80 miles to the ride so Mac and I pondered ourb options while having our first stop enroute. While drinking coffee I explained to Mac that I'd seen this volcano and waterfall on a previous trip to Costa Rica and didn't want to go out of my way in the rain to see it again (BTW it's called a rainforest because it always rains!). Happily a villager struck up a conversation with the strangers on the fancy 'motos'. He explained that last January an earthquake shook down the top of a nearby mountain. It killed nearly 100 people and closed the road completely. We took the detour he suggested and arrived in our rainforest lodge at 1:30 PM. The other 19 people arrived in a driving rainstorm at 5:30. They missed the detour and saw neither the volcano nor the waterfall.
I'm going out now to try to photograph the troop of howler monkeys that woke everyone this morning.
