David to Panama City - 225 miles
We took the Pan American Highway for today's ride. We've avoided the PanAm thus far since it is usually too smooth and too straight for maximum motorcycle pleasure. Today's 200 miles was from one mountainous area to another.
The first mountain region looked as if an ancient caravan of two thousand giant camels laid down to rest, but never got up. Over the next few thousand years brilliant green forests grew over them so that today all that remains are the two thousand lush, camel-humped forested mountains.
As we traversed these hump-backed mountain lands we could always see, far in the distance a much higher mountain range. We finally reached it just before we got to Panama City. If the first range looked camel humped, the second looked to be made from Stegasaurus backs.
